Life can be overwhelming, but together we can shine brighter. "Jazzercise is my spark! I love dancing to good music for 60 minutes with friends. I’ve been going to Jazzercise classes most of my life. I always feel better when I leave then when I arrived. I forget it’s an aerobic workout and strength training because we clap, laugh, and feel the music. Moving and sweating are good for the body, being with supportive classmates is good for the mind, and singing along with the music is good for the soul. When I feel my spark dimming I try to recenter and rebalance myself through breath and movement with yoga and/or meditation … I also love connecting with nature as it helps me gain a sense of peace and inner serenity.

Founded as a subsidiary of the Lee and Bob Peterson Foundation, Sunshine from Darkness hosts major events throughout the year. These events serve to bring mental health and addiction awareness and education to the community and provide local professionals and philanthropists the opportunity to engage with the broader mental health community. Our Mission Sunshine from Darkness is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and addiction disorders and erasing the stigma of both.
